Would You Buy Secondhand Gym Kit? šŸ’«

We were having a laugh at the gym this week about something that definitely got us thinking—would you wear someone else’s sweaty gym kit? Okay, okay, I know what you're thinking: ā€œGross!ā€ But let’s be real, we’re obviously talking about washed gym clothes here! šŸ˜‚ Still, it sparked a proper debate, and I wanted to share my thoughts because, let’s face it, good quality gym gear doesn’t come cheap!

Now, I’ll admit it—I love Lululemon more than any other brand. I know, I know, I try not to get sucked into all the branding hype, but there’s something about the fit of their leggings. They don’t budge, feel like a second skin, and most importantly, for us lifters out there—they’re squat proof! (Trust me, that claim gets thrown around way too often by brands that simply don’t deliver.) The only downside? They cost a small fortune. Ā£85 -100+ for leggings? Excuse me, what? 😳

šŸ’« Enter: Pre-loved Gym Kit
This is where my love for secondhand comes in. I’m a huge fan of pre-loved gym gear! Honestly, you can find some real gems out there. Sure, there’s the risk of fakes floating around on the resale sites (ugh, don’t even get me started—that’s a whole other post), but if you’re savvy, you can snag great quality gear for a fraction of the price.

When I mentioned this to the girls at my local CrossFit Box, the vote was pretty much split. Some love the idea, while others wouldn’t dream of it. I get it—there’s definitely a personal preference element here. But if it means getting high-quality, durable gym clothes for less, and keeping them out of landfills, I’m all in.

So, what about you? Would you buy secondhand gym kit, or is it a hard pass? Let me know your thoughts because this is one conversation that I think we could all learn something from.

Catch you in the next post!

Love,
Clare JulietĀ āœŒļø
