It’s Earth Month. Here’s What I’m Actually Doing About It.

It’s Earth Month. Here’s What I’m Actually Doing About It.

You know how every April your inbox fills up with brands telling you to “go green” — usually with a 20% off flash sale on something you probably don’t need? Yeah, same. Earth Month can feel a bit performative sometimes. So I wanted to share what I’m actually doing behind the scenes, and what I’ve been thinking about lately — not just as someone who cares about sustainability, but as someone trying to make a business work without the greenwashing.

The Real Talk Bit

I don’t have a perfect setup. I’ve got dog food to buy, parcels to post, subscription boxes to plan, and occasionally (okay, often) a pile of Vinted items giving me side-eye from the hallway. But sustainability is still at the heart of everything I do. Not in a “look how eco I am” kind of way — more like, “how can I make this easier for people to do without having to think too hard?”

The Subscription Box Shift

Right now, I’m considering curating a self-care sustainable subscription box. I want them to feel like a treat — not just a box of wooden spoons and guilt. Think: low-waste swaps and little luxuries that are actually useful, beautiful, and dare I say it... joyful?

Here’s what I’m playing with for themes:

  • "Spring Reset" — Think fresh scents, gentle cleaning swaps, and a little something that makes your kitchen feel lighter.

  • "The Simple Joys" — A bar of organic chocolate, a wildflower seed bomb, a beautiful soap that doesn’t smell like patchouli.

  • "Feel Good Faves" — That deodorant that actually works, a herbal tea you’ll want more of, and a sustainably made notebook for brain dumps.

What I Hope You Feel

My hope is that when someone opens one of these boxes, they don’t just feel good about what’s inside — they feel seen. Like someone gets that trying to live more sustainably isn’t always easy or aesthetic or convenient. But it can still be fun. And it can still feel good.

Want To Join In?

If you’re not already on the list, I’d love to have you. I’m also putting together a little Earth Month newsletter with tips, behind-the-scenes messiness, and sneak peeks of the boxes. Nothing spammy, just the kind of email you might actually read.

Because this month (and every month), I’m trying to keep it real, keep it thoughtful, and keep it good & proper.
